Hey everyone, time for the monthly update!
Secret Societies
Secret Societies has gone to layout! We're one step closer to getting the book to your hands. Our artists are finishing up the portraits of all the NPCs (there's a TON of them) and the chapter headers are due at the end of the month. I wanted to show you all what the book is going to look like, but that's going to be in the December update.
Geek & Sundry Episodes
A while back, I ran a game of 7th Sea for the Geek and Sundry show, Starter Kit. Those episodes were behind a paywall, but just recently, they've started posting the videos to Youtube. I've already seen a bunch of positive comments about the show. It was a lot of fun to run. I hope you have fun watching them.

That's the update for this month. I want to thank you all for your patience. It's been a long haul getting everything back on track. There's been a lot of editing and re-writing, a lot of art direction and other elements that have made this a real test. I know you are all waiting and I'm working my hardest to get things out as soon as I can. The Secret Societies progress has really been a positive experience. It's been hard, but we're getting there. So, thanks again.

Hey folks and welcome to the August update.
Sorry about July; Gencon and personal stuff completely ate my time. And by "personal stuff," I mean this:
Yeah, I got hit by a car.
Fortunately, I was driving a Smart Car, and that means Little Steven Honkings saved my life. The Smar Car's combination of safety devices kept me from permanent injury and I was only off my feet for most of the second half of July. Painkillers were a big part of my life.
But the good news is most of the work being done on 7th Sea books had nothing to do with me. Both Secret Societies and Khitai have editors scheduled to go through the text and we've got a new artist by the name of Matthew Myslinski! (His website is https://www.matthewmyslinski.com.) He's working on 10 half-page pieces for Secret Societies and he's starting to turn in black and white sketches. I was hoping to have some of the final art for the update, but we'll have a bunch of new art from Matthew soon.
Once Secret Societies comes back from the editor (whom I'm talking to tomorrow), I'll have final text available for all of you to review before we send it off to layout. I'll be giving you time to go through it, ask questions and check for errors we've missed. Yes, we'll miss them. Everybody's human and it happens.
I expect to see Secret Societies by the end of this year. Theus willing, you'll have it in your hands by Christmas.
But let's talk about Gencon!
I ran a bunch of games at Gencon including a 30+ person LARP called "Murder at Five Sails." The LARP went very well and I'll by typing it up so you can all take a look at the system and the scenario. And yes, that means I plan on releasing an official 7th Sea LARP system in the near future.
I also got to talk about long-term plans for 7th Sea with the Chaosium guys and got to run the game for them. Some of them were familiar with the game, others were not. We had a grand time and a lot of questions followed.
I got to meet a ton of supporters at Gencon and I want to thank you all for your kind words. This has been a really rough time in my life, but friends and fans have made it a lot easier. Thank you all.

You may have received an email notifying you that you have renewed PDF downloads through Backerkit. Chaosium cancelled the old coupon system (which was way complicated) and helped me set up direct PDF downloads through Backerkit.
